Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes (hands-on for select areas; primary reviewer for others).
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Lead/assist SEC reporting activities, including preparation of or oversight for external resources responsible for 10-K and 10-Q filings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors.
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley; maintain supporting documentation for key controls.
- Partner with FP&A to build budgets and monitor budget-to-actuals.
- Support administration of stock-based compensation, ESPP, and 401(k) plans.
- Support daily treasury operations by monitoring cash and investment accounts and short-term liquidity needs.
- Experience-preferred accounting areas: Accounts Payable, Payroll, Stock Compensation, Fixed Assets, Leases, Clinical Trial Accounting, Investments, Intangible Assets, Income Taxes, Employee Benefit Plans.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.
- 5+ years of relevant public and/or corporate accounting experience (preferably in pharma/biotech/life sciences and with public companies).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to supervise and direct employees and third-party contractors.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, pivot quickly, and manage ambiguity.
- Strong cross-functional thought partnership; ability to influence management and resolve conflict.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred.
