Responsibilities:
- Maximize opportunities for the product portfolio in single-layer geography by developing and maintaining strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practice.
- Advance hospital/specialty customers along the sales continuum to gain prescriber commitments using effective questioning, active listening, and approved data/resources; deliver on-label presentations/sales calls to highlight benefits/risks and address therapeutic gaps.
- Differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolio value proposition at all levels within accounts and departments.
- Problem-solve product and patient flow across Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill; coordinate stakeholders across departments for patient-focused solutions.
- Identify customer needs, build market intelligence, and support compliant/innovative programs.
- Succeed in a complex, matrixed, account-based selling environment; partner with AbbVie in-field and in-house teams to identify/adapt approaches and tactics.
- Create, develop, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans; determine channel/department/HCP focus and frequency; align resources and adjust as needed.
- Use account data to maintain account profiles/relationship maps; target key decision makers to expand physician usage.
- Participate in local boards/societies/conventions/HCP meetings as appropriate; represent assigned products and share on-label information internally.
- Complete required training and adhere to company policies; meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry to assigned facilities.
- Proactively collaborate across healthcare institutions and organizations with cross-functional partners and Medical Science Liaisons.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent experience (5+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science; 3+ years preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Account-based selling experience in hospitals/wound care/infusion; ability to build advocacy (with/without formulary win) for acute products; experience navigating matrix and complex accounts (e.g., IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient).
- Knowledge of formulary approval process; experience driving formulary approvals; Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Documented strong sales performance; advanced sales skills; ability to communicate complex/noveI products simply; strong team player.
- Strong business acumen, planning/organization, presentation/facilitation, and problem resolution.
- Ability to fully cover assigned geography; valid driverโs license.
- Ability to travel and attend overnight training/sales meetings.
- Driving personal or company vehicle/equipment.
- Ability to satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting/licenses) and maintain entry in territory.
