The Account Specialist is responsible for maximizing opportunities for the product portfolio in a single-layer geography by developing and maintaining strategic business relationships with Hospitals, IDNs, Academic Institutions, Outpatient Accounts, Long Term Care Facilities, Government Accounts, and Specialty Private Practice to increase patient access (consistent with approved labels), develop new business, expand current business, maximize resource utilization, and achieve geography sales goals.

Responsibilities
- Advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum; deliver on-label presentations to highlight benefits/risks and address therapeutic gaps.
- Differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolio value proposition with C-Suite, physicians, hospital staff, and support personnel.
- Problem-solve product and patient flow across Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill; coordinate stakeholders across departments.
- Identify/address customer needs; build relationships for market intelligence and compliant/innoative programs.
- Execute in a complex matrixed, account-based selling environment; partner with AbbVie in-field and in-house teams.
- Create and monitor strategic geography business plans; align resources and targets by account/channel/HCP focus.
- Use key account data to maintain account profiles/relationship maps and target decision makers to expand physician usage.
- Attend HCP meetings/venues as appropriate; represent assigned products and share on-label information internally.
- Complete required training; maintain policy adherence; meet HCIR credentialing requirements.
- Collaborate across departments and with cross-functional partners for compliant communication strategies.

Qualifications
- Bachelorโ€™s in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; alternatively 5+ years relevant industry experience (3+ years in pharma/health/science preferred) plus high school/GED.
- Account-based selling experience (Hospitals/Wound Care Centers/Infusion Centers) and experience building hospital advocacy.
- Knowledge of formulary approval; driving formulary approvals; Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Proven strong sales performance; advanced sales skills; ability to communicate complex products clearly.
- Strong business acumen, planning/organization, presentation/facilitation, and problem resolution.
- Valid driverโ€™s license; ability to travel and cover assigned geography; ability to drive personal or company vehicle/equipment.
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities.
