Responsibilities:
- Maximize opportunities for the product portfolio in a single-layer geography by developing and maintaining strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practice.
- Advance customers along the sales continuum to gain prescriber commitments through effective questioning, active listening, and use of approved data/resources; deliver on-label presentations/sales calls.
- Differentiate the Anti-Infective portfolio value proposition across C-suite, physicians, hospital staff, and support personnel.
- Problem-solve product and patient flow through specialty pharmacy, specialty distribution, and buy-and-bill channels; coordinate stakeholders to align on patient-focused solutions.
- Achieve success in a complex, matrixed, account-based environment; partner with AbbVie in-field and in-house teams to identify and adapt approaches/tactics.
- Create, develop, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans; determine channel/HCP focus and frequency; align resources and adjust as needed.
- Source, interpret, and utilize account data to build account profiles and relationship maps; target decision makers to expand physician usage and customer base.
- Participate in local boards/societies/conventions/HCP meetings as appropriate; represent assigned products and share on-label insights internally.
- Complete required training; maintain adherence to company policies and OEC/Legal procedures; meet HCIR credentialing requirements for facility access.
- Proactively collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Science Liaisons and account leadership to develop compliant communication strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; OR 5+ years relevant industry experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred) and high school diploma/GED.
- Account-based selling experience (Hospitals, Wound Care Centers, or Infusion Centers); experience building hospital advocacy and navigating matrix environments (e.g., IDNs, academics, outpatient).
- Knowledge of formulary approval process; Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Documented strong sales performance and advanced sales skills; ability to communicate complex products simply and overcome customer concerns.
- Strong business acumen, planning/organization, presentation/facilitation, and problem-resolution skills; ability to cover assigned geography.
- Valid driverโs license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Ability to drive personal/company vehicle; travel to cover territory and attend training/sales meetings.
- Preferred: success in relevant therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing); English proficiency.
- Essential: satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements (e.g., background/drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, state/city licenses).
