Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for positioning and selling the Pacira portfolio within an assigned territory, using product knowledge (pharmacological & technical/Package Insert and benefits) and business planning to exceed defined sales revenues.
Responsibilities
- Identify target markets using account-based operations and reporting tools/dashboards.
- Exceed corporate revenue objectives within a specified geography.
- Work with surgeons, anesthesiologists, healthcare providers, and pharmacy to drive adoption of the portfolio within accounts.
- Develop and maintain expertise of all products.
- Manage time effectively to execute sales activities and achieve business objectives.
- Participate with the Regional Director in strategic/tactical planning.
- Update and document sales account information in Veeva.
- Demonstrate expertise in the conversion process (hospital, ASC, office).
- Develop and execute sales and retention strategies.
- Conduct face-to-face sales meetings to close business, identify/minimize obstacles.
- Manage the territory through office visits and ongoing education.
- Communicate opportunities, market trends, and issues to leadership; prepare/present updates.
- Manage expense budgets.
- Stay current on clinical data and present/interprets it to health professionals.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree required.
- Minimum 1 year of direct selling experience to hospitals/healthcare professionals in pharma/biotech/device/healthcare.
- Minimum 1 year OR sales experience preferred.
- Excellent written/oral English communication; strong presentation skills.
- Ability to complete hospital credentialing.
- CRM (customer resource management) tools experience required.
- Extensive travel; valid driverโs license and safe driving record; reliable transportation.
- Live in or near assigned territory.
- Strong communication/interpersonal/analytical skills; customer-focused relationship management.
- Independently motivated; strong goal-setting/prospecting/networking/territory and time management.
- Account management; needs assessment; value propositioning; objection handling; gain agreement with physicians and facility procurement.
- Proficiency with MS Office, mobile tech, and web applications.
- Able to travel overnight and locally up to 90%.
