Position Summary:
The Director, Access & Reimbursement (DAR) leads and coaches a team of Access & Reimbursement Managers (ARMs) responsible for access and fulfillment activities across nephrology healthcare provider accounts and execution of the patient access field reimbursement strategy.

Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, develop, and lead a field access & reimbursement team in local geography.
- Enable healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers with information/tools to start and stay on therapy.
- Use KPIs and analytics to optimize field execution.
- Develop long- and short-term team strategic plans and manage execution tactics.
- Drive regional vision, culture, performance, customer relationships, and team goals.
- Deliver performance management, coaching, and compliance oversight.
- Coach maximum performance in expediting patient access; address access/fulfillment obstacles (pharmacy benefit, specialty pharmacy, REMS).
- Create regional access & reimbursement business plan to optimize initiation and pull-through metrics.
- Provide product access/reimbursement expertise and team training.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration and communication (field sales, Patient Experience, Specialty Pharmacy, Market Access).
- Establish communication cadence between ARMs, hub services, REMS, specialty pharmacy, and payer account team.
- Spend time in field and virtual calls for development, issue resolution, and feedback.
- Cultivate key account relationships to support onboarding acceptance; train on coverage/criteria changes; ensure pull-through messaging.
- Analyze regional performance and address capability gaps.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in related field (or equivalent).
- 10 years pharma/biotech or related experience; specialty, nephrology, rare disease, and REMS preferred.
- 5+ years specialty medicines with deep access & reimbursement landscape knowledge.
- 3+ years field reimbursement manager experience.
- 3+ years first-line team leader experience in coaching and people development.

- Cross-functional experience leading training, access marketing/operations and/or payer projects.
- Experience managing access complexities for new-to-market medications; specialty pharmacy network experience.
- Relationship-building with HCPs, office staff, sales team, and hub counterparts.
- Understanding of commercial/private and government reimbursement (e.g., Medicare Part D, VA).
- Experience educating on benefits verification, prior authorization, appeals, denials, letters of medical necessity, pre-determination.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to resolve issues/educate virtually; strong organization, multitasking, and communication.
- Prior line management experience; ability to manage complex project plans/timelines/budgets.
- Adaptability to plan changes; field-based role within region (near major airport).
- Valid driverโ€™s license, reliable vehicle; travel up to 50%.
- Ability to perform face-to-face work and meet credentialing requirements within territory.
