Role Summary
Vice President, US Sales West at Johnson & Johnson, leading revenue growth and market expansion for the West region within MedTech/Medical Devices. Responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive regional sales strategy, managing a high-performing team, and fostering strong customer relationships to achieve sales targets and strengthen market position.
Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute the regional sales strategy aligned with overall business objectives; analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a sales team to achieve individual and team targets; implement training programs to sustain high performance and accountability.
- Sales Performance Management: Set goals and KPIs, monitor performance, provide coaching, and conduct regular reviews to address obstacles and drive improvement.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders; engage major accounts to identify needs and position products effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure alignment and share field insights with leadership for strategy and product development.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting: Maintain understanding of regional market dynamics; provide regular reports on performance, trends, and strategic recommendations.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage regional sales budget and optimize tools/technologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
- 14+ years of relevant experience in Marketing, General Management or Sales; medical devices/MedTech background required.
- Proven track record in Medical Devices/MedTech; people management experience.
- Domestic travel ~50% of time; some weekend travel.
- Strong financial and business acumen (P&L) and ability to engage with key opinion leaders.
- Ability to operate in complex, hybrid, and diversified markets; collaborate across US and international teams.
- Ability to stimulate marketing innovation by identifying global unmet needs and reposition strategies as needed.
- Effective in a matrix organization and capable of leading change; strong communications in English (verbal & written).
- Preferred:
- Advanced degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
- International experience; experience leading sales and marketing; Cardiovascular/Electrophysiology domain knowledge preferred.
