VP, Medical Team Head, Cardiovascular and Metabolism (CVM)

Role: Vice President, Medical Team Head for Cardiovascular and Metabolism at Novartis, responsible for shaping US medical strategy across a broad portfolio, including marketed and pre-launch indications, and leading lifecycle management. Key responsibilities include establishing strategic healthcare partnerships, engaging with regulators like the FDA, supporting patient access through real-world evidence, guiding business development and new product commercialization, and leading cross-functional teams across Medical, Clinical Development, Global Medical Affairs, and Commercial units. Requirements: MD, DO, PharmD, or PhD with 12+ years of senior experience in clinical development or medical affairs within pharma, biotech, or academia, and over five years of team leadership. Deep knowledge of the US healthcare landscape, clinical research, and health economics necessary; cardiovascular/metabolic expertise preferred. High-value specifics: therapeutic area focus on cardiovascular/metabolic diseases, involvement in late-stage development, regulatory engagement, and health outcomes. Collaboration with senior stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies is integral. Work setup: primarily remote with the East Hanover, NJ site as the preferred location; US and European travel estimated at 30-35% annually, up to 40% seasonally.
