Role Summary
The US Lead Planning & Performance Senior Finance Director will lead the Planning & Performance finance function for ViiV US, driving the performance culture using internal and external data and robust analyses. You'll lead financial planning cycles, ensure efficient and effective processes, and provide strategic insight to anticipate business issues and challenge forecast assumptions. The role reports to the VP & Head, NA Finance and has 2 direct and 4 indirect reports. Based in Durham, NC, with eligibility for a domestic relocation package.
Responsibilities
- Lead US ViiV Planning & Performance team, ensuring integrity, transparency and reliability of Finance information; direct financial activities in support of delivering business strategies and solutions with strong governance
- Plan, coordinate and deliver the financial cycles for the US ViiV business, including calendar and reviews, designing outputs and processes, coordinating with Rx and ViiV finance leads, and ensuring proper hub interactions
- Propose financial targets with strong business understanding and appropriate analysis
- Integrate Core Commercial Cycle and Financial Cycles in calendar, output and analysis; provide presentations for executive S&OP
- Provide accurate and insightful analyses of US ViiV performance; determine appropriate analyses and automate delivery to focus on insights
- Drive data integration, automation, advanced analysis and benchmarking to support a performance-based culture
- Develop and produce meaningful SG&A analytics for financial cycles; drive lean processes, challenge requests, automate where possible, and improve efficiency through workshops
- Deliver analysis for ViiV Leadership teams and Investor Relations
- Represent US ViiV to ViiV Global, GSK Pharma, and GSK corporate on planning and forecasting matters
- Lead ad hoc projects, including analysis on business development options or inter-department process improvements
Qualifications
- Required: Finance or Business degree and/or professional qualification (e.g., CPA, MBA or international equivalent)
- Required: 8+ years finance experience within the US Pharmaceutical Industry
- Required: Commercial finance experience at LOC, Regional or Global level; prior experience in a commercial environment
- Required: Experience leading financial cycles
- Required: Experience in financial modelling, investment appraisal, market and business insights analytics
- Preferred: Experience across functions in a multi-location one finance team environment; collaboration with internal customers
- Preferred: Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred: Experience in business advisory environment and ability to present insights clearly to non-finance audiences
