Role Summary
Vice President, Supply Chain, EndoMechanical and Energy (EM&E) — lead the end-to-end supply chain organization for the EM&E business, creating and implementing a vision, strategy, and roadmap, and driving a high performing culture. Partner with EM&E commercial and R&D teams to ensure alignment with key business partners.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end supply chain leadership for a complex global multi-billion-dollar business.
- Establish and communicate EM&E vision, strategies, and a roadmap for quality, compliance, operational excellence, project execution and end-to-end cost effectiveness.
- Lead a cross-functional team including Global Technical Operations, Planning, Sourcing, Internal/External Manufacturing, Deliver, Quality, Finance, and HR.
- Secure demand capacity for globalization and key growing product lines.
- Participate as a member of the OTTAVA and EM&E Supply Chain Leadership team, and Commercial EM&E Operating Committee.
- Maintain strong connections with customers, commercial and R&D partners, and critical third-party vendors and suppliers.
- Optimize the EM&E supply chain to drive growth through efficiencies and performance improvements.
- Execute a Network Optimization strategy to rationalize the facility footprint and improve efficiencies; develop ongoing strategy for the Make organization aligned with stakeholders and the enterprise supply chain.
- Establish and institutionalize process leadership with global technology and engineering platforms.
- Ensure flawless execution of Life Cycle Management and New Product Introduction launches.
- Drive innovation in manufacturability and process development.
- Align metrics and KPIs, set performance targets for internal and external manufacturing to meet enterprise goals.
- Drive standardization and synergy with LEAN and PE practices; emphasize innovation to drive improvement.
- Balance and drive continuous improvement in cost, customer service, and product quality; minimize compliance risk.
- Manage capital investments to support growth, innovation, and capital efficiency.
- Interface with senior governmental and regulatory bodies; ensure regulatory, SOX, safety and environmental compliance and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures across federal, state, local levels.
- Govern manufacturing processes through technology strategy plans aligned with Operations and Development needs; leverage best practices in manufacturing and supply.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive talent management strategy for the EM&E team; coach the team.
- Deliver on financial plans and commitments.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred. Degree in science, business, engineering, finance, or organizational management or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience managing large, multi-site, global organizations with end-to-end supply chain experience.
- People management experience is required.
- 15+ years leading within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Biologics and MedTech manufacturing experience aligned with technology platforms.
- Understanding of global demands including multi-cultural locations, local labor law, healthcare regulatory requirements, tax law, and logistics.
- SAP ERP knowledge preferred.
- Active member of a global BU leadership team; drive operational excellence with measurable financial, quality, and cycle time results.
- Understanding of supply chain linkages from demand planning to delivery.
- Ability to create a future vision and gain support and alignment; develop strategic plans aligned with corporate goals.
- Experience attracting, developing, and retaining diverse supply chain talent; track record of building leadership pipelines.
- Experience leading high-performing senior end-to-end teams.
- Strong understanding of medical technology and new product introduction processes; MedTech and GMS knowledge preferred.
- Proven track record of leading large, complex, global businesses; experience in complex matrix organizations.
- Experience in regulated environments (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or consumer packaged goods).
- Travel up to 40% domestically and internationally.
