Role Summary

Vice President, Marketing and Ecosystem Platforms and Engineering leads the team translating Pfizer strategy into innovative digital, technology, and data platforms. Defines strategic direction, technical vision, and operational excellence of platforms powering 10,000+ Marketing colleagues and supporting Medical, Legal, and Regulatory teams globally. Integrates advanced engineering practices across disciplines to drive enterprise-wide transformation and digital ecosystem growth.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the enterprise platform strategy aligned with Pfizerβ€šΓ„Γ΄s long-term priorities and digital transformation.
  • Embed continuous improvement and innovation into daily operations across C4.
  • Design solutions for complex, long-term enterprise-wide impact; address AI governance, platform sustainability, and developer experience.
  • Oversee architecture, design, and delivery of global commercial platforms (Adobe Experience Manager, Workfront, Express, Firefly), Web/Mobile Platform ecosystem, Python/AWS automation, Salesforce Marketing CRM, CDP, Identity Platforms, and emerging AI technologies.
  • Make enterprise-level decisions on platform selection, vendor partnerships, designs, and roadmaps.
  • Promote privacy-first and security-first engineering across platforms; lead FinOps for cloud spend optimization.
  • Serve as a technical and functional authority in commercial architecture and core technologies.
  • Advise on enterprise-wide initiatives; influence senior leadership and external stakeholders; represent C4 in governance forums.
  • Define resourcing strategy for Platform Engineering; lead a global, diverse team; foster agility, inclusion, accountability, and excellence.
  • Develop talent pipelines; act on developer experience feedback to improve delivery and work-life quality; balance innovation with stability.
  • Ensure high-quality platform delivery from inception to global deployment; oversee large programs and vendor partnerships; improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead incident responses, root-cause analysis, and resilience engineering; ensure privacy and security by design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology Management; relevant technical experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of IT experience delivering large-scale, global systems in platform engineering, architecture, or emerging technologies.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making; strong interpersonal skills for senior audiences.
  • Ability to influence enterprise strategy and lead large-scale transformation in regulated environments; experience with global, 24x7 deployments.
  • Pharma industry knowledge and external market awareness; ability to anticipate business requirements.
  • Proven leadership of large global teams; experience in complex, matrix organizations with indirect resources; strong financial acumen.
  • Vendor sourcing and negotiation experience; ability to define and execute sourcing models.
  • Familiarity with one or more technologies: Adobe enterprise Platforms (Workfront, Experience Manager, Express, Firefly), Salesforce Marketing Cloud/Data Cloud/Life Sciences Cloud, generative AI, Informatica Cloud Services, AWS, modern web frameworks and JavaScript patterns.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel will be required as part of this role, with expected regional and global travel and potential for on-site at Pfizer World Headquarters in NY; role may involve after-hours or weekend work as needed.
