Job Summary
The Vice President, Market Access leads market access strategy across ARS Pharmaceuticals marketed and pipeline products, developing sustainable access for patients, providers, and payers. Ensures optimal access for neffy through clinical and economic value, reimbursement infrastructure, proactive contracting, and disciplined financial stewardship. Partners with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Commercial Operations; contributes to New Product Planning as needed. Reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Lead market access strategy: patient access, formulary positioning, reimbursement (balancing access, profitability, and long-term goals).
- Senior expert on payer engagement, reimbursement trends, patient access, contracting, and pricing.
- Manage Gross-to-Net strategy, government pricing reporting, and governance.
- Monitor and communicate financial risks/opportunities from market access and contract decisions.
- Lead pricing committee; executive sponsor of Deals Desk for pricing/discounts/rebates/contracting oversight.
- Provide executive oversight of commercial and government contracting (GPOs, IDNs, wholesalers, distributors, strategic customers).
- Oversee government pricing programs (Medicaid, Medicare, 340B, FSS, VA, and state programs).
- Ensure compliance with federal/state pricing regulations, reporting, and contractual obligations.
- Oversee external vendors for Gross-to-Net, contract administration, and pricing analytics.
- Manage patient support strategies (copay, cash, telemedicine platform, access hub).
- Optimize pharmacy/distribution networks; manage DSA fees; support retail and non-retail classes of trade.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs.
- Partner with Finance and Commercial Operations on forecasting, contract investment, and revenue realization.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent).
- 15+ years commercial experience in life sciences market access, pricing, and reimbursement; 5+ years people leadership.
- Strong relationships with PBMs and national/regional payers.
- Experience with Medicaid policy, contracting, and reimbursement frameworks.
- Experience with generic competitors and/or acute medication products highly preferred.
Skills/Abilities
- Strong analytical, strategic, and cross-functional leadership.
- Deep understanding of payer landscape and reimbursement/contracting trends.
- Domestic travel up to 15% as needed.
Benefits/Pay (if applicable)
- Full-time salary range: $320,000β$370,000; may be eligible for discretionary annual performance bonus.
