Vice President, Head of US Medical Affairs, Rare Disease

Role: Vice President, Head of US Medical Affairs for Rare Disease, responsible for shaping strategic medical initiatives across Ipsen's rare liver, bone, and kidney portfolios in the US. Core responsibilities include developing and executing the US medical strategy, overseeing post-launch optimization, lifecycle management, evidence generation (including Phase IIIb/IV studies, RWE, registries), and preparing for new asset launches and acquisitions. The leader serves as the senior US medical voice, collaborating with global teams, R&D, regulatory, commercial, and other stakeholders, and representing the US in international forums. Key tasks involve scientific communication, publication planning, external scientific collaboration, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role requires translating insights into high-impact strategies and supporting business development activities. Qualifications include MD, PharmD, or PhD with 15+ years' pharma/biotech experience, preferably in rare diseases such as hepatology, nephrology, or transplant medicine, with senior leadership and asset strategy experience. Proven ability to manage global and US cross-functional teams, oversee complex clinical studies, and influence strategic decision-making is essential. Experience with digital tools, external innovation, and lifecycle planning is preferred. The position involves up to 40% travel, with a base salary range of $320,000-$430,000, and requires fluency in English and advanced scientific credentials.
