Role: Vice President of Public Affairs for R&D, responsible for developing and executing an integrated global communications strategy that enhances scientific reputation and supports pipeline and regulatory milestones. Responsibilities include advising R&D leadership on reputation and risk, managing communications for key development and regulatory events (e.g., trial milestones, regulatory submissions, approvals), shaping scientific narrative, internal communications, issues management, crisis response, and stakeholder engagement. The leader will build and lead a high-performing team with expertise in science, regulatory affairs, and issues management, while ensuring global alignment and operational excellence. Collaborates closely with R&D, Regulatory, Medical, Legal, Corporate Communications, and external advocacy partners. Data-driven decision making and KPI tracking are essential. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus 16+ years in scientific communications, public affairs, or related fields; advanced degree preferred. Proven leadership in pharma/biotech R&D, clinical development, and regulatory communication, with strong understanding of global regulatory environments and scientific translation. Experience across multiple therapeutic areas and modalities (small molecules, biologics, cell/gene therapy, oncology, virology) is preferred. High-value specifics include support for complex scientific milestones, regulatory strategies, and stakeholder engagement within a global biopharma context.
