Position Summary
VP, Controller (Finance) responsible for global accounting, financial reporting, and controllership; ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC, and SOX; leads accounting organization and internal controls; partners on strategic initiatives and Finance transformation.

Responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations: general accounting, monthly/quarterly close, technical accounting, SEC reporting, inventory/COGS accounting, internal controls, financial systems, and global consolidations.
- Oversee consolidated financial statements and analysis of domestic/international operations.
- Lead technical accounting research; develop U.S. GAAP position papers/memoranda; monitor emerging standards.
- Oversee global accounting for foreign subsidiaries (consolidations, intercompany, FX, statutory reporting).
- Support M&A, licensing/collaboration, financing, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integration.
- Partner cross-functionally (Legal, Tax, FP&A, IT, HR, Supply Chain) for accounting treatment and governance.
- Lead Finance transformation (ERP optimization, automation, data governance, process improvement).
- Maintain SOX compliance program and accounting policies/procedures.
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors; support Audit Committee/Board reporting.
- Oversee ERP/accounting systems; drive continuous improvement of close/reporting.
- Build/mentor accounting team.

Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (or related).
- CPA license; deep U.S. GAAP/SEC/SOX expertise.
- 15–20 years progressive accounting/financial reporting/controllership (public biotech/pharma leadership preferred).
- 8–10+ years finance leadership; experience leading accounting and SEC reporting for a public biotech/pharma.

Preferred
- Big Four experience; Sarbanes-Oxley environment experience.
- Experience with M&A/licensing/financing and ERP/financial reporting systems.
- Commercial-stage rapidly growing biotech/pharma experience.
