General/Position Summary
Director of FP&A, Value Architecture leads development and management of the value case for AI transformation initiatives, including value hypothesis, financial model, KPIs, and measurement approach.

Responsibilities
- Define value hypothesis, KPIs, and measurement approach at initiative initiation.
- Develop and maintain value architecture standards, assumptions, definitions, and methods.
- Partner with functional leads and SMEs to ground value hypotheses in operational reality.
- Connect value cases to budget, forecast, and long-range planning.
- Analyze trends, risks, opportunities, and business KPIs to improve decision-making and forecast accuracy.
- Develop analytics/reporting on value drivers, affordability, and expected ROI.
- Track projected vs. realized value; reconcile with original investment theses.
- Provide evidence to Portfolio Strategy to inform sequencing/acceleration/stop decisions.
- Partner on cost-to-run modeling, total cost of ownership, affordability analysis, and investment governance inputs.
- Support SOX-compliant documentation/control-aware close, accrual, and governance processes.
- Maintain auditable records of value cases/assumptions/KPIs and direct/quality-control embedded Value Architects.
- Partner with HR/business leaders on headcount reporting/forecasting/planning where workforce assumptions affect value.

Qualifications
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance, economics, engineering, strategy, or related field (required).
- MBA or masterโ€™s in economics/analytics (preferred).
- 10+ years in value management, strategic finance, consulting, or business analytics (required).
- Experience building/tracking value cases for large transformation/investment programs.
- Experience with affordability modeling, cost-to-run, total cost of ownership, and cross-functional coordination.
- Pharmaceutical/biotech/science-driven industry experience (preferred).
- People management/team leadership (required).

- Rigorous KPI/measurement frameworks (analytically sound and operationally practical).
- Strong analytical/critical thinking; ability to challenge assumptions.
- Excellent communication/data storytelling for senior executives.
- Collaboration/influence with Finance, DTE, functional leaders, and portfolio stakeholders.
- Excel and PowerPoint required; planning/BI/visualization tools preferred.
- Continuous improvement mindset; adapt to evolving priorities, governance, and reporting needs.
