Role Summary
Vaccine Instrumentation Technician Apprentice Program, US, 2026. The apprenticeship offers hands-on technical training in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with part-time college study toward an associate degree and full-time paid on-the-job training at a GSK facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist with complex manufacturing processes in a highly automated, regulated environment โรรฌ ensuring quality, safety and accuracy in all that we do
- Operate specialized highly automated equipment to manufacture products
- Monitor and analyze production processes and data, utilizing various instruments and control systems
- Work in teams to continuously improve the functionality of automated equipment and processes
- Work in a compliant manner to ensure safety of yourself, others and the environment
- Adopt a safety first, quality always mindset
- Contribute to a continuous improvement environment, participate in daily tier meetings and scheduling as applicable
- Assure all documentation (logbooks, etc.) are complete and accurate
- Complete all GSK required Site, EHS, Instrumentation, Regulatory and Global training
Qualifications
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent by June 2026; GPA 2.8 or above; completion of Algebra/Geometry or equivalent math; English and Biology/Chemistry coursework with GPA 2.8 or above; less than 36 college credits
- Required: Written and spoken fluency in English
- Preferred: AP Biology or Chemistry; studied more than 1 life science; studied High School Physics; studied High School Pre-Calculus; high school engineering/technology/STEM courses
- Other: Must be 18 by August 1, 2026; less than 2 years of related work experience since high school; willingness to enroll in related instruction with partnering community college or technical institution; ability to commute up to 60 minutes daily
Skills
- Ability to follow directions and complete daily assignments with minimal supervision
- Capability to handle basic repairs and maintenance tasks independently
- Willingness to support more complex projects under guidance of experienced technicians
- Interest in developing instrumentation and metrology skills through on-the-job training and formal GSK training
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent by June 2026
- GPA requirements as specified above
- Less than 36 college credits
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to commute daily to GSK worksite and related instruction facility
