Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to alarms for building utility systems: water chillers, cooling towers, condenser water, high purity water treatment (softeners, de-ionizing/RO units and stills), clean steam/building steam & condensate, compressed air/vacuum systems.
- Maintain cGMP-compliant documentation: logs, work orders, daily labor records; conduct daily equipment tours and shift communications.
- Run/optimize water and steam systems; troubleshoot, regenerate, acid clean, change resin, disinfect, and monitor capacity/quality.
- Maintain gauges/instrumentation and recorder charts; perform routine testing; perform preventive/corrective maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Prepare systems for modifications/tie-ins using hazardous energy control (shutdown/isolation) and return to normal operation.
- Operate radios/computer workstations as applicable; guide other maintenance personnel; write/execute safety permits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- State Stationary Engineer Seal (or equivalent).
- Trade school/community college (6 months full-time emphasis) in industrial power plant/refrigeration operations (Power plant operation or HVAC) OR verified military training equivalent.
Experience (required):
- 3 years (within last 7 years) full-time operating industrial power plant equipment/controls (e.g., chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, water treatment) including basic chemical/water treatment knowledge and computer use; OR equivalent 3 years military experience; OR served as Stationary Engineer at the companyβs West Point location in last 7 years.
Desirable:
- Courses/experience with high purity water, cooling towers, water treatment/RO/steam utilization; large centrifugal chillers (>600 tons), air compressors/desiccant dryers (>250 cfm), WFI/USP water systems, emergency generators, and Lockout/Tagout.
