The Position:
- Support and improve facility maintenance (preventive/predictive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, new equipment installation)
- Support and participate in plant shutdowns for Facilities & Utility equipment
- Coach and participate in A3/3C problem solving; support training for junior team members
- Support installation, commissioning, qualification, and training for site utilities systems and controls
- Execute independent site rounds and equipment inspections for Utilities; drive continuous improvement using cLEAN concepts
- Ensure maintenance documentation is recorded in SAP and communicated in shift turnover reports
- Follow all safety/environmental requirements; other duties as assigned
Essential Functions (primary):
- Maintain plantwide refrigeration systems; perform corrective/preventive maintenance on assigned processes
- Manage individual training plan; improve performance/reliability with process owners
- Lead Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools to perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve equipment issues
Qualifications:
- Associateβs degree (relevant field) required
- 4+ years in mechanical, electrical and/or control systems required (or HS/GED + 6+ years)
- Proficient reading schematics/wiring diagrams; computer literacy; planning/organizing work
- Experience with SAP/CMMS preferred; systematic data-driven troubleshooting preferred
- Technician skills: electronic batch records; utilities (compressed air, steam, vacuum, chilled water, RO/pre-treatment); WFI/Clean Steam preferred; refrigeration/HVAC (ammonia preferred)
- Electrical skills: 120vβ480v experience required (4160V/25KVA plus); troubleshooting including VFDs preferred; NC Electrical License preferred
- HVAC/R skills: air handling/exhaust/leak detection and control wiring required; EPA 608, HEPA/air balancing, ammonia/CO2 refrigeration, CARO/RETA preferred
Physical/Shift:
- Up to 33 lbs; stand up to 12-hour shift; occasional ladder/elevated work; confined spaces; loud noise with hearing protection; may require gloves/odorous/hazardous conditions
- Ability to work rotating shifts/nights/weekends
