Role Summary
The US Customer Experience - Launch Excellence Retail Lead leads project management for Global Marketing Launch initiatives. This role partners with Global Launch Leaders and cross-functional teams to design robust launch plans, proactively identify risks, and ensure timely, high-quality products for customers across major geographies.
Responsibilities
- Independently manages project management activities for prioritized Launch initiatives in major geographies.
- Provides input on Launch strategy, milestones, and deliverables; leads a team to maintain launch scope documentation and annual updates, securing alignment around the new plan and deliverables.
- Utilizes external inputs and process knowledge to drive transformation within Launch Excellence.
- Partners with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain Launch timelines (e.g., Microsoft Project) and process maps; identifies, communicates and manages the critical path and leading indicators; monitors progress and adjusts plans as needed.
- Manages the Launch budget with finance and geographies; analyzes variances, drives re-forecasts, and communicates the cost of Launch scenarios.
- Leads assessment of Launch risks, mitigation/contingency planning, ownership assignment, and proactive risk communication to protect critical path and portfolio milestones.
- Applies a quality mindset to all tasks and escalates issues with Global Launch Leaders; documents decisions and metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Coordinates Launch meeting logistics, agendas and minutes, and ensures effective cross-team communication.
- Performs capacity planning to identify resource roadblocks, assesses impact of scope changes on resources and budget, and recommends adjustments.
- Drives shared learning and process improvement by standardizing processes, capturing best practices, and disseminating learning across Project Management groups.
- Leads or participates in retrospective reviews to identify issues and strengths and ensure learning is applied to future launches.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorโs degree in Life Sciences / Pharmacy / Biotechnology / Engineering / Business (or equivalent).
- Required: At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry in roles involving product launch, commercialization, or new product introduction.
- Required: Proven track record of managing cross-functional projects (e.g., Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Supply Chain) in a matrix environment.
- Required: Strong project management skills: defining launch timelines, milestones, risk mitigation, budget oversight.
- Required: Excellent communication (oral & written) and influencing skills to engage stakeholders globally and locally.
- Required: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and global time-zones.
- Preferred: Strategic mindset: translate market insights into actionable launch plans.
- Preferred: Strong analytical capability: interpret data (market, sales, forecasting), build business cases and inform decision-making.
- Preferred: Experience in end-to-end launch readiness: from pre-launch planning to operational readiness (supply, logistics, pricing).
- Preferred: Excellent stakeholder management: ability to partner with functional leads (e.g., Commercial, Supply, Regulatory, Medical).
