Role Summary

Thought Leader Liaison Southeast Region (Remote) role focusing on engagement with key opinion leaders in Neuro Oncology within the Southeast region, supporting in-line product marketing in the Oncology business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Actively identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with key regional KOLs through 1:1 meetings, virtual interactions, and engagements at congresses, speaker programs, advisory boards, and programs at key institutions.
  • Drive results in KOL relationship management, advocacy, insights collection/reporting, advocacy development, speaker identification, training and management.
  • Develop clinical and commercial knowledge of the Neuro Oncology market; understand regional treatment and market specifics, referral patterns, and multidisciplinary team functions within key accounts.
  • Help formulate strategic and tactical plans for KOL engagements based on market understanding at local and national levels.
  • Attend national and regional medical conferences and meetings.
  • Develop engagement plans to enhance relationships with external stakeholders β€šΓ„Γ¬ KOLs in key accounts.
  • Contribute to speaker bureau development, including recruiting, content development, training, execution, and evaluation of branded and unbranded educational programs.
  • Support advisory boards and other insight generation projects.
  • Prioritize and implement peer-to-peer education and other tactics that meet regional market needs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional KOL engagement, leading task forces to support launch/product growth.
  • Coordinate with Medical Affairs, Sales, and third-party partners to support commercial advisory boards as directed by Marketing.
  • Support Patient Advocacy and Society Partnership and contribute to Congress planning opportunities.
  • Contribute to development of materials to support execution of TLL tactics.
  • Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and compliance partners to ensure compliant development and execution of initiatives.
  • Review and update regional plans, operationalize engagements with thought leaders via insight gathering processes.
  • Engage with TLL team members to assess market conditions nationally and introduce TLL leadership to KOLs as warranted.
  • Provide insights and mentoring to Account Managers to enhance understanding and execution of commercial activity in local accounts.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry (KOL engagement, Key Customer marketing, Thought-leader liaison work, sales, marketing, or equivalent).
  • 2+ years of neuro oncology experience required.
  • 2+ years of rare disease experience required.
  • Previous KOL-facing experience required.
  • Strong preference for biomarker testing/diagnostics experience.
  • Launch experience preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, strategic relationship management, collaboration/feedback skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complexity.
  • Previous thought leader liaison experience preferred or demonstrated ability to network effectively across the Neuro Oncology KOL community.
  • Strong scientific acumen and understanding of oncologic clinical medicine.
  • Proven history of high performance, leadership, and engagement with remote teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets and critical paths.
  • Ability to adapt to changing plans and implement new strategies quickly.
  • Field-based position; must live in the Southeast region.
  • Ability to travel 50-60% domestically; approximately 3 days/week in the field, with some weekend work required.

Education

  • Bachelorβ€šΓ„Γ΄s Degree (life sciences or related discipline a plus).
  • Graduate degree preferred.
