Therapy Access Manager (TAM)
Responsibilities:
- Manage defined accounts within a specific region/territory to support access for providers and patients; provide education on access services and reimbursement solutions for United Therapeutics’ products.
- Execute territory strategic plan with internal/external stakeholders (e.g., call center/HUB, market access, matrix field partners); serve as payer expert for the geography and communicate payer changes.
- Ensure understanding of the reimbursement process, specialty pharmacies, field reimbursement services, and the UT patient support program; advise on patient-level reimbursement issues in compliance with policies and Rules of Engagement.
- Manage daily activities supporting appropriate patient access; serve as a liaison to patient assistance and access support services.
- Compliantly serve/support customers as an extension of patient support; provide in-person customer visits.
- Participate in cross-matrix/team meetings and calls; enter call activity into CRM.
- Provide office education across the access process (formulary coverage/utilization management, insurance forms/procedures, benefits investigation, prior authorization, appeal, and/or claims resolution).
- Educate physician office staff on use of patient support services using UT-approved materials (including web-based provider portals).
Territory: New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia (live within territory).
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s (8+ years) or Master’s (6+ years) or PhD/PharmD (2+ years).
- 1+ year experience in Market Access and/or Field Reimbursement supporting specialty products.
- Experience with specialty/biologic products and/or complex reimbursement.
- Experience educating HCPs on patient service programs.
- Ability to manage ambiguity/problem solve; solution-oriented mindset; business acumen; strong analytics.
- Ability to travel >50%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s/PhD/PharmD; cardiology or pulmonology experience; rare/orphan drug experience.
- Demonstrated education ability for access processes/issue resolution.
- Experience delivering presentations in person and/or via Zoom/Webex/Teams.
- Advanced medical insurance terminology knowledge; CMS policies/processes with expertise in Medicare Part B and Part D.
