Role Summary

The Therapeutic Specialist, PBC / HCV represents Gilead's products to a defined customer base within the Denver South territory (including Southern Colorado), focusing on achieving sales targets through in-person engagements with healthcare professionals and building strong practice relationships. The role involves delivering disease awareness information, clinical updates, and education, translating complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address geography-specific opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve coverage, frequency targets, and sales targets in the assigned territory.
  • Contribute to regional training and develop key skills of other team members.
  • With guidance, monitor sales progress, create action plans, and regularly measure and report performance.
  • Collaborate with outside partner companies to co-promote products or services as needed.
  • Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
  • Represent the company at professional events and promote products at such events.
  • Work cooperatively with Medical Science Liaisons, National Account Managers, Marketing, and other internal teams on cross-functional projects.
  • Identify and resolve issues and opportunities, communicating proactively to marketing and sales management.
  • Complete administrative tasks promptly (e.g., updating customer databases, expenses).
  • Collaborate across the commercial team to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Operate in compliance with all relevant laws and internal policies related to product promotion and information dissemination.
  • Promote appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals using product and therapeutic knowledge.
  • Prepare a business plan for the territory, assign targets, and communicate required actions to achieve goals.
  • May work with external partners to co-promote products or services and represent the company at professional events.
  • Build and extend relationships with key customers or accounts; work as an individual contributor.
  • Ensure competency levels required for the role are met and maintained.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of sales experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry; OR Master’s degree and 2+ years of sales experience; OR PhD with 0+ years of sales experience. Prior experience in the relevant therapeutic area is highly desired; mandatory country-specific pharmaceutical sales certifications are essential.
  • Preferred: Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, effective influencing and negotiating abilities; working knowledge of the relevant therapeutic/disease area; awareness of industry trends and competitor practices; ability to identify issues and opportunities and communicate recommendations; ability to work in cross-functional teams; self-motivated with a degree of autonomy; prior pharmaceutical experience and relevant therapeutic knowledge are desirable.
