Role Summary

Therapeutic Specialist within Gilead's HIV Treatment, responsible for representing Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base. Focus on generating and growing sales by consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets within a specific geographic area, using a comprehensive account management approach and in-person engagement with healthcare practices.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong working relationships with healthcare providers, delivering timely disease awareness information, clinical updates, and education on healthcare changes.
  • Distill complex clinical concepts into messages tailored to diverse audiences and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals; monitor sales progress and create action plans.
  • Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
  • Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and other internal teams; collaborate with outside partners to co-promote products or services.
  • Identify and resolve issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Inclusion & Diversity efforts.
  • Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments and comply with guidelines.
  • Perform administrative duties including logging call activity and expenses in the call reporting system.
  • Adhere to regulatory, state, federal, and company policies and promote Gilead values of Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, and Integrity.
  • Exhibit advanced influencing and relationship-building expertise with a focus on sales outcomes.
  • Maintain enthusiasm for learning and retaining technical and scientific product information.
  • Work autonomously and consistently surpass personal goals.
  • Ensure department personnel are informed of and compliant with commercial compliance policies and applicable laws and guidance related to product promotion and information dissemination.

Qualifications

  • Basic: High School and Nine Years' Experience OR Associates Degree and Seven Years' Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Five Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Three Years' Experience.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned area as required; satisfy onsite visitation requirements of healthcare practitioners if applicable; perform essential duties; reasonable accommodations available for disabilities; valid driver's license required.
  • Preferred: BA or BS degree; minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience; strong selling skills in competitive markets; proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives; previous product launch experience in a competitive environment.

Education

  • BA/BS or higher preferred; relevant clinical or pharmaceutical sales background.
