Role Summary

Therapeutic Specialist within Gilead's HIV Treatment representing Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base, focused on generating and growing sales within a specific geographic area. Requires comprehensive account management, in-person engagement with healthcare practices, and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong working relationships with healthcare providers; deliver disease awareness information, clinical updates, and education on healthcare changes.
  • Translate complex clinical concepts into clear messages for diverse audiences; demonstrate strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals; monitor progress and create action plans.
  • Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and external expenditures.
  • Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and internal teams; may collaborate with outside partners to co-promote products or services.
  • Identify and resolve issues, communicating proactively to management; comply with regulations and company policies; uphold inclusion and diversity efforts.
  • Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments as required; perform administrative duties including call reporting and expense submission.
  • Adhere to regulatory and company policies and demonstrate integrity and accountability; maintain knowledge of products, disease states, and competition.
  • Demonstrate advanced influencing and relationship-building for sales outcomes; maintain motivation to learn and retain technical information; work autonomously.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School with 9 years' experience OR Associate's with 7 years OR Bachelor's with 5 years OR Master's with 3 years in relevant field.
  • Ability to travel regularly within assigned area; onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners may apply; valid driver's license required.
  • Strong ability to comply with federal/state laws and industry guidelines; comfortable with high accountability and reporting requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree; minimum 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience; strong selling skills in competitive markets; track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives; product launch experience in competitive environments.

Education

  • BA/BS or higher strongly preferred; advanced degrees may be considered as part of qualification criteria.
