Role Summary
Therapeutic Specialist β HIV Treatment focused on representing Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales to meet targets within a specific geographic area. This role involves in-person activities with healthcare practitioners, building strong relationships to provide disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare changes, and synthesizing complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences. Location: Central New Jersey Territory (Randolph, Morristown, Elizabeth, Newark).
Responsibilities
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in the therapeutic areas and the disease state complexities.
- Promote appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals in compliance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
- Demonstrate peer leadership through compliant behavior and conduct.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals; monitor progress and create action plans.
- Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other related expenditures.
- Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and internal teams; may collaborate with outside partners to co-promote products.
- Identify and resolve issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.

- Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments as required.
- Perform administrative functions including reporting call activity, managing customer information, and submitting expenses.

Qualifications
- Basic: High School diploma with 9 years of experience; or Associates with 7 years; or Bachelor's with 5 years; or Master's with 3 years.
- Ability to travel within the assigned area as required.
- Eligibility for onsite visitation requirements of healthcare practitioners within the area (vaccinations, screenings, etc.).
- Ability to perform all essential duties; reasonable accommodations may be made.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA or BS degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience.
- Superior selling skills in highly competitive markets.
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets.
- Previous product launch experience in a competitive environment.
