Role Summary

The Therapeutic Area Specialist is a field-based role focused on driving adoption of BMS medicines for appropriate patients by engaging Health Care Providers (HCPs) with a differentiated scientific dialogue and customer experience. The TAS spends 100% of time in the field with external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive demand for BMS medicines within the portfolio for appropriate patients, delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) with science-based dialogue aligned to the label.
  • Build and maintain credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice and medical groups as the primary contact.
  • Liaise with other BMS functions to enhance Customer Experience, prioritizing safe and appropriate use of products while meeting business results and upholding BMS values.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech healthcare sales, MSL, HCP roles, or nursing.
  • Experience in Psychiatry preferred.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to physicians.
  • Strong credibility with key customers and a customer-centric mindset to create a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
  • Proven account management, selling competencies, and track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills and a positive, can-do attitude.

Skills

  • Scientific agility and ability to present complex data clearly to HCPs.
  • Analytical capability to interpret prescribing patterns, market trends, and HCP preferences.
  • Technological agility with CE^3 and CRM tools; ability to use digital channels for communication.
  • Strong teamwork and enterprise mindset; integrity and good judgment.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree or equivalent required; additional certifications in relevant therapeutic areas a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to operate a Company-provided vehicle and meet driving requirements as a condition of employment.
