Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical project and disease biomarker strategies across early-to-late phases for the Cardiovascular & Metabolism portfolio; support late-phase mature assets.
- Lead a matrixed group of SMEs and program stakeholders to develop biomarker strategies across the Research–Development–Commercial continuum.
- Represent Biomarker Development on CVM early/late Disease Area Decision Boards; drive cardiovascular/metabolic disease, compound mechanistic biology, and precision medicine approaches.
- Lead translational data working groups integrating large-scale multimodal patient data (omics, imaging, digital, etc.) to identify new indications, endpoints, and responsive subpopulations.
- Represent BMD line functions in Therapeutic Area Line Function committees for clinical protocol development and operational milestone reviews.
- Lead biomarker strategy and plans at the clinical team level; lead/contribute to BMD/TM/BR initiatives (e.g., genetics, inflammation, imaging).
- Stay current on literature and competitor data; implement strategies with the BMD global organization.
- Design/present RDC biomarker strategy for transitioning and late-phase assets and ensure study-level portfolio alignment.
Essential Requirements:
- MD, MD/PhD, or PhD; plus additional PhD/postdoc or equivalent research.
- Strong cardiovascular/metabolic disease epidemiology, especially ASCVD (diagnosis, biomarker development, treatment monitoring).
- High-impact publications; clinical/biological expertise (board certified or similar preferred).
- 5+ years independent leadership; external leadership/partnership in consortia/health authority initiatives.
- Proven success leading multidisciplinary matrix teams and mature biomarker strategies supporting registration/launch.
- Experience in biostatistics/bioinformatics/ML/data science and publishing omics studies; partner with/lead data scientists.
- Fluent English (German/French/Italian helpful).

- Expected annual base salary range: $185,500–$265,000–$344,500 USD; potential performance bonus; flexible/hybrid work options; minimum 14 weeks paid parental leave; long-term equity awards may be included.
