Role: The Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) drives business performance and patient impact within a specialized territory focused on rare cholestatic liver diseases. Responsibilities include developing strategic account plans, building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals across hepatology and gastroenterology, and executing targeted engagement initiatives to raise disease awareness and facilitate treatment access. The TAM analyzes market intelligence, referral pathways, and customer needs to identify opportunities, while managing complex account influence and stakeholder mapping. They develop deep clinical knowledge of rare liver diseases, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, and reimbursement pathways, communicating complex information credibly and tailored to each healthcare professional. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, and other teams to ensure aligned strategies, capture field insights, and support patient care. The TAM demonstrates entrepreneurial drive, resilience, and high emotional intelligence in navigating a dynamic and evolving rare disease landscape, often operating independently in underdeveloped markets. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of progressive biotech/pharma sales experience, ideally in rare diseases or complex specialties like hepatology or gastroenterology. Proven success in account-based selling, understanding of access and reimbursement, and strong interpersonal skills are essential. The position requires up to 70% travel, including overnight stays, and involves adhering to high ethical and compliance standards.
