Role: The Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) is responsible for driving business performance and patient impact in rare cholestatic liver diseases within an assigned territory. The core focus is on developing deep clinical expertise, building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, and executing tailored account plans to increase disease awareness, patient identification, and treatment persistence. Responsibilities include strategizing territory plans aligned with regional priorities, managing key accounts and referral networks, and facilitating access and reimbursement pathways. The TAM delivers scientifically credible engagement, influences clinical decision-making, and collaborates cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other teams to optimize patient care. They also serve as a clinical partner, providing insights to inform broader strategic initiatives. The role demands high emotional intelligence, resilience, and entrepreneurial drive to navigate complex, evolving rare disease markets, with a focus on ensuring patient-centered care. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred), 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience, ideally in rare diseases, hepatology, or gastroenterology. Strong clinical aptitude, account-based selling skills, understanding of access/reimbursement, and cross-functional collaboration experience are essential. The position involves up to 70% travel, including overnight stays, and requires excellent interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and compliance adherence.
