Position Summary
The Technical Support Scientist provides application assistance, training, and troubleshooting support for RNAscope product lines. Serves as primary point of contact for customers, offering technical guidance and scientific advice for research use only. Maintains high customer service standards, logs/tracks recurring issues, collaborates with internal departments for resolution, and contributes to the technical support knowledge database.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide application assistance, product training, and troubleshooting for ACD product lines via online chat, phone, email, and on-site visits.
- Act as primary contact for technical issues; provide scientific consultation for research use only.
- Monitor support channels to ensure timely, comprehensive issue resolution.
- Log, track, identify frequent/high-impact issues; communicate using Salesforce CRM.
- Liaison with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to provide product feedback.
- Contribute to ongoing development of the knowledge database.
Education & Experience
- PhD (0+ years) or MS (3+ years) or BS (5+ years) lab experience in molecular biology/biochemistry or similar (PhD/MS preferred).
- Minimum 5 years lab experience with experimental design and cell/molecular techniques.
- Preferred: pathology/histology and tissue analysis; preparation of tissues and reagents for IHC, ISH, and imaging.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong troubleshooting/diagnosis skills across biological assays.
- Technical/customer or application support experience a plus.
- Self-directed, articulate; excellent presentation/teaching skills; strong interpersonal skills.
- Team player; travel ~10%; occasional lab work ~5%.
