Responsibilities:
- Lead technical team through successful first commercial launch; accountable for launch readiness across technical and commercial functions.
- Lead medium to large projects for Nautilus platform (new assays, consumables, software, hardware); manage multiple projects and dependencies.
- Define scope, objectives, and quarterly goals; measure/report status via dashboards/tools.
- Develop plans, milestones, and deliverables from conception to product release; create/manage detailed schedules.
- Translate technical risks/experimental outlines into actionable plans with measurable metrics; connect cross-team dependencies.
- Identify/mitigate risks and resolve issues to hit tight timelines.
- Facilitate prioritization and tradeoffs in commercial terms (customer impact, launch date).
- Communicate/present project status to senior leadership; identify technical resource gaps.
- Use PM tools/techniques (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Excel); lead meetings (agendas, minutes, action items).
- Own integrated commercial launch plan (R&D, Operations, Commercial, Service) and drive to measurable launch-readiness bar.
- Partner with Product Management and Commercial to translate customer requirements/feedback/timing into priorities and commitments.
- Manage interface between development milestones and customer-facing dates; escalate with options when commitments are at risk.
- Drive transition to sustaining (handoff to Operations/Service with ownership, change control, escalation paths).
Requirements:
- Onsite in San Carlos, CA; 5 days/week. 5β10% travel.
- 8+ years PM experience focused on product development in biotech/life sciences.
- Deep knowledge of product development process (PDP).
- Experience taking product from concept to commercial launch.
- Technical expertise integrating life sciences, software, hardware, assays, consumables.
- Early-stage startup experience.
- BS in engineering/science required (MS/PhD preferred).
- PMP and SAFe (or equivalent Agile) required.
- Proven experience owning/co-owning commercial launch (manufacturing scale-up, service/support readiness, commercial enablement).
- Experience partnering with Commercial, Marketing, Operations & Service as R&D interface.
- Working knowledge of design control, quality systems, and change control.
