Technical Program Manager

Role: Technical Program Manager overseeing new product introduction (NPI) and sustainment for ferrule manufacturing at 3M, ensuring manufacturing readiness, process excellence, and production scalability. Responsibilities: lead cross-functional engineering teams, serve as technical escalation point for ferrule production issues, drive root cause analysis, and optimize manufacturing processes. Manage contract manufacturer preparation and technical decision-making to support hyperscale volume production, ensuring quality, yield, and cost targets are met. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; 7+ years in product, process, or manufacturing engineering within hardware or optical manufacturing; 5+ years supporting NPI and working with contract manufacturers; strong background in root cause analysis, process validation, and process capability analysis. Preferred: Master’s degree, experience with fiber optic components, high-volume manufacturing, DFx principles, and quality standards like ISO 9001 or IATF 16949. High-Value: focus on fiber optic ferrule manufacturing, NPI to high-volume production, technical leadership in complex manufacturing environments, and international travel (~25%). Work Setup: On-site at Maplewood, MN or Austin, TX, with domestic and international travel.
