Role Summary

Technical Consultant (TC) at Elanco, a trusted expert to customers and sales teamsโ€”shaping the success of our leading pet health portfolio while positively impacting the broader veterinary community. Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality training for sales teams & veterinary customers
  • Create compelling technical content & support product launches
  • Share competitor insights and shape commercial strategies
  • Engage veterinary associations, universities & opinion leaders
  • Publish and present at scientific conferences
  • Represent Elanco as a respected technical expert
  • Co-travel with sales representatives and coach in the field
  • Design and manage technical trials to demonstrate product value
  • Lead technical input for lifecycle management of key brands
  • Guide responses to technical inquiries and adverse events
  • Partner with Regulatory to ensure compliance
  • Identify, train & support key advocates in the vet community
  • Foster strong, long-term influence and collaboration
  • Ensure ethical, compliant conduct in all activities

Qualifications

  • Required: Veterinary Degree (SAVC registration required)
  • Required: 3+ years of experience in the pet health industry
  • Required: Strong commercial + technical mindset
  • Required: Excellent collaboration, communication & training skills
  • Required: Understanding of disease, nutrition & industry trends
  • Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office & presentations
  • Preferred: Experience in corporate veterinary pharma
  • Preferred: Network across veterinary community
  • Preferred: Bilingual English & Afrikaans
  • Preferred: Industry trial or KOL management experience

Skills

  • Commercial acumen with technical proficiency
  • Strong communication, presentation, and training abilities
  • Relationship-building with veterinary professionals and organizations
  • Ability to design and interpret technical trials
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data presentation

Education

  • Veterinary Degree (SAVC registration required)
