Your Role:
The Technical Consultant works with customers to deliver technical expertise, market-leading product solutions, scientifically sound research studies, and value beyond product (including consulting, analytics, diagnostics, and market access support).

Responsibilities:
Sales and Marketing Support
- Work with customers as an active member of account teams
- Identify and position opportunities for customers to use Elanco products
- Participate in account planning and incorporate Elanco’s value strategy
- Develop and deploy training events and materials
- Support planning/preparation for new product launches
- Implement value strategy at the customer level

Customer and Technical Leadership
- Train and coach Elanco personnel on disease, products, and industry practices
- Build relationships with and influence external customers, consultants, and academics
- Identify avenues to deliver value beyond product
- Maintain good standing with and influence key industry organizations

Research and Innovation
- Conduct research using approved Elanco products
- Align research with business needs and brand lifecycle planning
- Publish research in scientific meetings and peer-reviewed journals
- Assist with R&D requests and product line extensions

Business Leadership
- Communicate within technical and account teams
- Identify opportunities and threats for customers and Elanco
- Influence long-range strategy and product positioning
- Identify external talent for technical and other roles

Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Dairy Nutrition and Physiology
- 3–5 years dairy industry experience
- Understands dairy operations; can influence successful dairy consultants
- Technical consultancy expertise focused on customer needs/concerns
- Proven success as a dairy nutritional consultant to US dairy farms

Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of the US dairy industry
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Knowledge/skills related to dairy environmental sustainability
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team

Additional Information:
- Travel: 50%
- Location: Field Based, Upper Midwest US (preferably WI)
