Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary organization of ~25 scientists within Research Biology.
- Integrate diverse experimental disciplines and workflows for coordinated execution and efficient delivery of novel molecular insights.
- Establish platform priorities, resource allocation, and capacity planning aligned with Research Biology and Therapeutic Area priorities.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and seamless handoffs across teams and partner organizations.
- Drive adoption of automated experimental workflows and integration of AI/ML for efficient experimentation across programs.
- Serve as a senior scientific partner to Target Discovery and Therapeutic Areas.
- Set clear expectations and enable scientists with diverse skill sets to collaborate and contribute to the early research pipeline.
- Serve as a core member of the Target Discovery Advisory Forum; play a key role in target discovery, validation, and prioritization by engaging and aligning therapeutic area stakeholders.
- Guide synthesis and communication of complex scientific and data-driven insights to stakeholders and the advisory forum.
- Foster a highly collaborative, creative, dynamic, cutting-edge research environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD (biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, computational biology, immunology, oncology, metabolism, or relevant) + 7 years scientific leadership in biotech/pharma.
- OR Masterโs degree + 10 years.
- OR Bachelorโs degree + 12 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading mechanistic discovery research and -omics platforms.
- Ability to integrate experimental science with enterprise data/analytics/AI-ML.
- Experience with genetics/genomics/transcriptomics/proteomics/structural and AI/ML approaches.
- Track record of scientific impact (publications, patents, program advancement).
- Experience managing budgets/capital investments; identifying/attracting/retaining talent; mentorship/team development; team building; clear communication.

- Annual base salary range (U.S.): $265,405 - $312,459.
