The Position
Responsible for the operation, maintenance, administration, and lifecycle management of selected infrastructure systems and platforms.

Essential Functions
- Evaluate supported systems and design proposed systems to ensure lifecycle management
- Ensure installation, troubleshooting, qualification, and validation meet local and regulatory requirements
- Monitor systems and respond to IT incidents
- Participate in investigations and responses to IT Security and Support incidents
- Deploy security patches per patching procedures and manufacturing recommendations
- Support risk assessments and analyze performance and capacity of supported systems
- Plan, prepare, test, and execute backup and recovery procedures; annually test the Disaster Recovery Plan
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to ITS personnel
- Provide input for IT Infrastructure processes and procedures
- Support on-site projects and collaborate with external infrastructure resources
- Manage small department projects and support other business unit projects
- Collaborate with System Managers, senior engineers, and IT Security on new systems/updates
- Serve as SME during corporate and external agency audits
- Support and practice IT Security; ensure confidentiality of sensitive data
- Follow safety and environmental requirements; provide ad-hoc and after-hours site support
- Other accountabilities as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in related field with at least 5 years related experience OR 10 years direct experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft OS, Linux OS, networking principles, and IT security concepts
- Experience in environments with 300+ servers and 2000+ workstations
- Experience with system monitoring tools, domain services, backup solutions, virtualized server deployment, patch management, and IT security
- IT System Administration/Engineer certification required (e.g., MCSA, MCSE)

Required Skills/Tools/Practices
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP; virtualization platforms; disaster recovery processes; patch deployment technologies; firewalls/communication flows
- IT security controls (e.g., application whitelisting/anti-virus), network monitoring, packet analysis
- Maintain software/hardware inventory and manage licensing
- Troubleshoot/analyze/document/resolve infrastructure and business system incidents
- Configure/optimize/monitor OS software and servers; perform lifecycle system development tasks
- ITIL framework knowledge; operation under FDA guidance (computer-based information/automation)
- Maintain documentation and system testing per federal/corporate/local requirements; follow O&M and DR plans
- Security audits and risk assessment participation; systematic problem solving; project management and development life cycle
- Documentation readiness for rollout; operate within cost center/project budgets
- Strong written and oral communication skills; internal relationship management
