Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, the General Manager/Senior Vice President, NAM will be a seasoned global operating leader with overall accountability for the Dexcom business in the region. This role has direct line regional responsibility for Sales, Regional Strategy and Product Management, Channel and Distributors, Payers and Market Access Teams, and Clinical and Medical Affairs. In addition, this leader has dotted line responsibility for regional partner functions, including Finance, Human Resources, Commercial Analytics, and Regulatory. This role requires a highly credible, strategic, and experienced executive with a strong record of driving sales and commercial operations. This individual has been involved in scaling and optimizing high growth businesses. The ideal leader blends creativity with discipline, prudence with courage, and humility with audacity.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver committed revenue growth results at above-market rates, driven by operating excellence across sales, marketing, market access, channel management, medical and clinical affairs, and partner functions.
- Lead regional commercial strategy decisions, ensuring Dexcom’s market model in the region is optimized to deliver results today, while evolving at pace to lead market growth and development with our future portfolio.
- Develop regional analytics and forecasts that drive unique and actionable insights about the current market, while anticipating, being prepared for, and where appropriate, shaping future market direction.
- Drive local competitive intelligence and proactive competitive planning related to both tactical and strategic actions.
- Establish deep and nuanced understanding of regional and local policies, market access, payer and insurance systems, channel and pricing dynamics, and all relevant factors influencing customer behavior.
- Through unique, future-back insights, lead regional strategy and identify new product innovation requirements and opportunities, even before customers articulate these needs themselves. With appropriate qualitative and quantitative rigor, ensure regional product and portfolio needs are fully represented in the Dexcom global product development process.
- Collaborate effectively across Global Commercial functions and cross functional partners in all aspects of the business.

In addition, the ideal candidate should bring the following function-specific experiences:
- Typically, 20+ years of industry experience with 15+ years of successful leadership experience in healthcare (pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical technology), and/or consumer technology.
- Experience working across multiple business models and sectors is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Proven management experience and P&L responsibility for a region or a cluster of countries.
- Proven track record of scaling a regional business.
- Experience in an agile, high growth environment.
- Large company experience with large team management and familiarity with matrixed organizations.
- Strong international experience.
- Exceptional track record of delivering measurable above-market business outcomes.
Location and Travel Required:
The position is based in the NAM region, with San Diego, California as a preferred location, with regional responsibilities, and requires at least 25% travel, depending on candidate’s home location. Dexcom supports remote work for employees. At the same time, this pivotal leadership role must have the ability to be present with regional teams at least 25% of the time, and travel as needed to customer-facing and internal meetings worldwide, including San Diego headquarters.
