Role Summary

The Supervisor Utility Operations is directly responsible for managing the utility operations for their respective area and shift, ensuring the generation and distribution of utility services is provided without interruption to support the facility. The Supervisor for Plant Utilities will oversee gray, clean, and plant utilities, acting as the on-shift management representative and supervising operators to safely and compliantly support GMP manufacturing of high-quality medicine. The role provides leadership, ensures appropriate staffing, and maintains equipment and processes in a compliant, validated state. During startup phase (2025–2027), leadership will be collaborative and support the broader team to build the organization, systems, and culture necessary for GMP operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and promote a strong safety and quality culture; maintain a safe working environment and conduct operations in a manner that protects safety, environment, and quality.
  • Ensure utility operations remain compliant with all regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Ensure utility areas appropriately support the execution of the site production plan.
  • Maintain consistency of operations on the designated shift through active floor engagement.
  • Complete audit action items assigned to operations in a timely manner.
  • Set objectives and development plans for operators; address employee relations issues on shift and escalate as needed.
  • Manage events, communicate with the team and external groups, and provide input to investigations.
  • Build and develop a team with clear purpose and strong team spirit.
  • Ensure operators are trained and that operating procedures and training materials are current.
  • Communicate site objectives and team business to operators; ensure adequate staffing and manage overtime as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship not anticipated.
  • Required: Completion of Post Offer Exam or Work Simulation if applicable.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in science, engineering, or a technical field.
  • Preferred: Experience in facility/area startup environments.
  • Preferred: Experience in utility operations or supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to provide/receive feedback and develop employees.
  • Preferred: Basic computer skills; solid understanding of FDA guidelines and cGMP requirements.
  • Preferred: Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills; ability to train and mentor others.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles; ability to work with a team and influence diverse groups; strong coaching and feedback capabilities.
  • Preferred: Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences and provide one-on-one coaching to direct reports.

Education
