Position Summary
The Supervisor - Molecular Operations, Liquid Profiling oversees daily operations of the Molecular Liquid Profiling laboratory and ensures the molecular area meets all necessary Quality Control (QC) guidelines.

Job Responsibilities
- Manages/performs all clinical molecular testing.
- Maintains routine molecular equipment maintenance and support logs.
- Trains molecular technologists on new techniques.
- Monitors test analysis and specimen examination to maintain analytic performance.
- Follows lab procedures for specimen handling/processing, testing, reporting, and maintaining patient result records.
- Performs and documents proficiency testing (PT) samples.
- Adheres to QC policies; documents QC activities, instrument/procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
- Follows established procedures when test systems are outside acceptable performance.
- Documents corrective actions when performance specifications are not met.
- Tracks, accumulates, and computes performance metrics.
- Prioritizes and triages specimens; handles/disposes specimens and chemical waste per manual and regulatory requirements.
- Supports compliance with FDA, CLIA, NYS, CAP, ISO, etc.
- Ensures adequate inventories of reagents and supplies.
- Resolves employee relations issues and recommends disciplinary action.
- Serves as first point of contact for technical/procedural/policy questions; communicates updates.
- Accepts other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in chemical/biological/clinical/medical laboratory science or medical technology.
- 4+ years lab experience, including 2 years high-complexity patient testing (1 in Molecular Pathology methods).
- Knowledge of lab safety and QC procedures/regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet for business.

Preferred Qualifications
- Masterโ€™s degree in a related field.
- 6+ years molecular methods experience in CLIA/NYS/CAP/ISO-regulated environment.
- CLSp (MB) or MB(ASCP) certification preferred.

Other / Conditions
- 3rd shift: 9:30pmโ€“8:00am.
- Periodic travel; some evenings/weekends/holidays.
- Pre-employment: criminal background check, drug screening, credit check (for certain positions), and reference verification.

Physical Demands
- Sit/stand and work at a computer for long periods.
- Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens and lab chemicals (including formalin); may face extreme temperatures/noise/fumes.
- Visual acuity/color discrimination; repetitive motion; lift up to 30 pounds.
