Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee insurance analysts verifying new patient insurance benefits and handling claim rejections; develop solutions for prior authorization and denied coverage requests.
- Partner with Leads to monitor workflow and adjust workload and staffing.
- Monitor calls and conduct case reviews for accuracy, policy adherence, and customer service; provide coaching/training and write performance reviews.
- Manage administrative tasks (scheduling, attendance/counseling, vacation and overtime scheduling) and participate in hiring; handle employee issues.
- Meet/exceed department performance metrics; provide periodic progress reports, activity/status updates, and local payor intelligence; elevate issues as appropriate.
- Build cross-functional relationships to ensure seamless patient/physician experience.
- Identify process improvements to increase operational efficiencies; assist with implementation of new pharmacy projects/products.
- Comply with required training, federal/state/local pharmacy laws, HIPAA/privacy policies, and company policies/procedures.
- Perform additional projects/tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in health sciences or business preferred (comparable/relevant experience considered).
- 3–5 years healthcare industry experience in reimbursement/billing, prior authorization, appeals, and specialty pharmacy operations.
- 1–2 years supervisory experience in a call center, physician, managed care, or healthcare insurance setting (desired).
- Strong technical skills; detailed, thorough knowledge of commercial/government pharmacy and medical insurance, billing, alternate funding, reimbursement, prior authorization/appeals, and specialty pharmacy operations.
- Leadership/coaching; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet timelines accurately.
- Strong written/verbal communication and organizational/time management/problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other computer systems.
