What You Will Do
Strategic partner to the VP General Manager of the Rheumatology and Nephrology (Rare Disease) Business Unit to shape and operationalize BU vision, strategy, governance, and execution; drive leadership team effectiveness, cross-functional alignment, and operating rhythm; enable coordinated execution of strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as strategic partner to develop BU vision/strategy; translate priorities into actionable plans and enable portfolio execution.
- Design and lead integrated BU governance processes; support leadership engagements and business reviews for cross-brand alignment and decision-making.
- Drive high-impact BU initiatives (capability building, portfolio resource optimization, enterprise-priority translation).
- Provide strategic recommendations to identify opportunities and address emerging challenges.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to strengthen organizational effectiveness.
- Ensure VP preparedness for key meetings/decisions via stakeholder alignment, follow-up actions, and executive communications/presentations.
- Support a collaborative, agile, connected BU culture.
- Manage agile BU operating rhythm; lead/support annual goal setting, financial reviews, and budget coordination.
- Drive adoption/scaling of AI, technology, and innovative capabilities.
- Partner with Finance, HR, Data & Insights to drive aligned decision-making; build trusted relationships.
- Represent BU in enterprise initiatives/workstreams as appropriate.
- Support compliance adherence.
- Oversee operational planning, budget management, and headcount tracking; manage forecasting, long-range planning, and performance management.
What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications: Doctorate + 4 years commercial experience OR Master’s + 7 years OR Bachelor’s + 9 years.
Preferred Qualifications: increasing-scope biopharma commercial roles; understanding of operating model; proactive/solution-oriented; strong interpersonal/negotiation/relationship skills; outstanding verbal/written communication; critical thinking/analytical/project management; results-driven; lead cross-functional projects; manage multiple priorities; travel as needed.
