Utilities Technician β Role & Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot utilities equipment (steam boilers, chillers, air handling units, WWTP, water purification/RO/DI, mixers, air compressors/dryers, chilled water systems).
- Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance per SOPs; complete cGMP work orders, logs, and forms.
- Conduct daily checks/maintenance, respond to urgent/emergency work orders, and perform limited troubleshooting/repair of utility/bldg systems.
- Perform WWTP daily collection/analysis and chemical/parameter adjustments to maintain compliance; dispose of hazardous waste.
- Support start-up of new equipment; use advanced maintenance technologies (e.g., alignment/balancing/thermography/oil analysis/ultrasound/vibration monitoring).
- Close work orders in CMMS (JDE, Maximo, SAP); maintain chemical inventory and keep areas 5Sβd.
- Follow safety rules; ensure GA and EPA regulatory compliance; may escort contractors; may teach other technicians.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED plus 8+ years related industrial experience (pharmaceutical/utilities/WWTP preferred). Technical certificate preferred.
- Preferred: 5β6 years maintenance trade experience.
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring schematics, procedures, and job blueprints.
- GA Industrial Wastewater Operator license (or ability within 90 days).
- cGMP/regulatory understanding; strong troubleshooting.
- Familiar with CMMS (SAP/JDE/Maximo) and Microsoft Office/SCADA/process control.
