The Training Manager, Oncology, is responsible for developing and delivering Oncology Training for commercial field representatives. Reporting to the Associate Director of Training, this person will work with training peers and global trainers to develop training related to disease, product, sales effectiveness, market knowledge, and operations for the Commercial organization.
Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain subject matter expertise for disease states, products, and therapeutic areas
- Develop and execute training programs and initiatives with minimal guidance
- Design and enhance current curriculum to meet Commercial organization needs
- Coordinate with Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Medical, and Regulatory to ensure medical content accuracy and compliance with promotional policies
- Manage vendors for training content development and contract requirements
- Perform project management during training content development
- Lead training meetings (planning, logistics, vendor monitoring, participant conduct)
- Partner with Marketing, Precision Medicine, and Commercial Leadership to meet brand objectives and coordinate rollout
- Influence and lead without authority via cross-functional collaboration (Marketing, Sales, Market Access, etc.)
- Collaborate with external partners and partner company colleagues to deliver best-in-class training and align strategy/tactics
- Act as a resource for field sales (sales meetings and routine field rides)
- Design and lead training work sessions at National Sales and POA Meetings
- Develop and maintain facilitation skills expertise for content delivery
- Assess training needs for clinical fluency and development competencies and provide feedback for innovation
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree required
- 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience preferred
- Training/Marketing/Sales experience preferred
- Knowledge of Medical Oncology and Gynecologic oncology areas preferred
- Experience developing clinical acumen training tools (plus)
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, training design, and platforms (plus)
- Strong collaboration, professionalism, cross-functional project planning, and ability to work in an unstructured environment
- Strategic insight; exceptional oral presentation/executive communication
- Learning, problem solving, interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- Self-motivation with minimal supervision
- Highly desirable: familiarity with AI/innovative technology platforms (e.g., iPAD) and MS Office/PowerAutomate
- HQ-based role (preferred location ABV1); remote option with 50% required travel to HQ
