Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Specialist – HCV/PBC for the Sacramento/Reno territory. Responsible for representing Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and achieving or exceeding sales targets within a specific geographic area. Establishes strong relationships with healthcare practices to provide disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare changes, and synthesizes complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in therapeutic areas and in-depth knowledge of the disease state complexities.
- Promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals in line with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
- Demonstrate peer leadership by modeling compliant behavior and conduct.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals; monitor progress and create action plans.
- Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other expenditures.
- Partner with internal teams and possibly outside partners to co-promote products or services.
- Identify and resolve issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
- Commit to inclusion and diversity efforts.
- Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments as required.
- Perform administrative duties including reporting call activity, submitting expenses, and maintaining customer information in systems.

- Demonstrate advanced influencing and relationship-building to achieve sales outcomes.

Qualifications
- Basic: High School Degree and 11 years of experience; or Associate’s Degree and 9 years; or Bachelor's Degree and 7 years; or Master’s Degree and 5 years.
- Travel: Ability to engage in travel as may be reasonably required, including regular travel within the assigned area.
- Onsite visitation requirements may apply (education, vaccinations, screenings, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA or BS degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience.
- Superior selling skills in highly competitive markets.
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets.
- Previous product launch experience in a competitive environment.
