Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Specialist β HCV/PBC, responsible for representing Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales within a specific geographic area, including in-person meetings with healthcare practitioners. Build strong relationships with healthcare practices to provide disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare changes, and synthesize complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products within therapeutic areas and knowledge of disease state complexities.
- Actively promote appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals in accordance with corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
- Demonstrate peer leadership by applying compliant behavior and conduct.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and sales goals; monitor progress and create action plans.
- Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other expenditures.
- Partner with internal teams (Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing) and may collaborate with outside partners to co-promote products or services.
- Identify and resolve issues/opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
- Demonstrate commitment to Inclusion & Diversity efforts.
- Report adverse events to Drug Safety/Public Health departments per guidelines.
- Perform administrative duties including reporting call activity and expenses in appropriate systems.

- Demonstrate advanced influencing and relationship-building for sales outcomes.
- Maintain passion for learning and retention of technical product information; work autonomously and exceed personal goals.

Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: High School Degree with 11 years of experience, OR Associate's Degree with 9 years, OR Bachelor's Degree with 7 years, OR Master's Degree with 5 years.
- Travel: Ability to engage in travel as required within the assigned area.
- Onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners within the area as applicable (may include vaccinations, screenings, etc.).
- Must be able to perform essential duties; reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA or BS degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience.
- Superior selling skills in highly competitive markets.
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets.
- Previous product launch experience in a competitive environment.
