Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Specialist – Hepatitis C responsible for representing Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales within a specific geographic area, including in-person meetings with healthcare practitioners. Establishes strong working relationships with healthcare practices to provide disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare changes. Synthesizes complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences and demonstrates strong presentation and communication skills. Develops an understanding of geography-specific issues and opportunities. This role covers the Indianapolis territory extending to Bloomington.

Responsibilities

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in therapeutic areas and the disease state complexities.
  • Promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals in accordance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
  • Demonstrate peer leadership through compliant behavior and conduct.
  • Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and sales goals; monitor progress and create action plans.
  • Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other expenditures.
  • Collaborate with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and internal teams; may work with outside partners to co-promote products.
  • Identify and resolve issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Inclusion & Diversity efforts.
  • Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments as required.
  • Perform administrative duties including call reporting, expense submissions, and maintaining customer information in systems.

  • Demonstrate advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with commercial policy and applicable laws related to product promotion and information dissemination.
  • Travel as required within the assigned area and complete any onsite visitation requirements of healthcare practitioners.
  • Perform essential duties satisfactorily; accommodate necessary reasonable accommodations.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma and 11 years of experience OR
    • Associates degree and 9 years of experience OR
    • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience OR
    • Master's degree and 5 years of experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • BA or BS degree
    • Minimum of 4 years pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience
    • Superior selling skills in highly competitive markets
    • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets
    • Previous product launch experience in a highly competitive environment
