Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Specialist – Hepatitis C responsible for representing Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and achieving sales targets within a specific geographic area. Establishes strong relationships with healthcare practices to provide disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare changes. Requires presentation and communication skills and understanding of geography-specific issues and opportunities. Indianapolis territory covering Bloomington.
Responsibilities
- Promote appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals in accordance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals; monitor progress and create action plans.
- Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
- Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and other internal teams; may collaborate with outside partners to co-promote products or services.
- Identify and resolve issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
- Demonstrate commitment to Inclusion & Diversity efforts.
- Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments per guidelines.
- Perform administrative functions including reporting call activity and customer information, submitting expenses, etc.
- Adhere to regulatory and company policies and demonstrate core values (Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, Integrity).
- Engage in travel within the assigned area as required; comply with any onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines relating to product promotion and information dissemination.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma and 11 years of experience OR Associates Degree and 9 years OR Bachelor's Degree and 7 years OR Master's Degree and 5 years in relevant field.
- Preferred: BA or BS degree; minimum 4 years pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience; strong selling skills; proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives; product launch experience in a competitive environment.
- Valid driver's license required.
