Role Summary

Sr. Technician II, Instrumentation & Controls responsible for performing corrective and preventative calibrations on manufacturing, facility, and laboratory analytical instruments; collaborate with engineering and validation teams; authoring changes to procedures and job plans to maintain high standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled calibrations for all manufacturing and laboratory functions with precision and accuracy.
  • Conduct unscheduled corrective calibrations and repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Install new instrumentation, providing engineering support and troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
  • Investigate equipment failures and provide validation support as needed.
  • Author changes to procedures, job plans, and LOTO safety forms to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate maintenance and calibration activities with manufacturing and laboratory supervisors to ensure alignment.
  • Manage routine decision-making processes, such as assessing instrument suitability and recommending replacements.
  • Participate in after-hour, on-call support on a rotating basis to ensure continuous operations.
  • Work in classified clean areas, adhering to gowning protocols and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with equipment maintenance teams for shared activities and improvements.

Qualifications

  • Required: Associate degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school with an emphasis in Electronics/Instrumentation.
  • Required: A minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training in instrumentation and controls.
  • Required: Basic understanding of pharmaceutical/biotech cGMP requirements.
  • Required: Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Required: Ability to work in mechanical and tight spaces, climb ladders, and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Required: Experience in using calibration software such as Infor 10 EAM is preferred but not required.
  • Preferred: Experience with Infor 10 EAM calibration software.
  • Preferred: Strong troubleshooting skills for complex equipment and instrumentation issues.

Additional Requirements

  • On-call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Ability to work in classified clean environments with proper gowning and safety protocols.
