Role Summary
Sr. Technician II, Instrumentation & Controls responsible for performing corrective and preventative calibrations on manufacturing, facility, and laboratory analytical instruments; collaborate with engineering and validation teams; authoring changes to procedures and job plans to maintain high standards and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled calibrations for all manufacturing and laboratory functions with precision and accuracy.
- Conduct unscheduled corrective calibrations and repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Install new instrumentation, providing engineering support and troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
- Investigate equipment failures and provide validation support as needed.
- Author changes to procedures, job plans, and LOTO safety forms to enhance operational efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance and calibration activities with manufacturing and laboratory supervisors to ensure alignment.
- Manage routine decision-making processes, such as assessing instrument suitability and recommending replacements.
- Participate in after-hour, on-call support on a rotating basis to ensure continuous operations.
- Work in classified clean areas, adhering to gowning protocols and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with equipment maintenance teams for shared activities and improvements.
Qualifications
- Required: Associate degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school with an emphasis in Electronics/Instrumentation.
- Required: A minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training in instrumentation and controls.
- Required: Basic understanding of pharmaceutical/biotech cGMP requirements.
- Required: Strong communication and time management skills.
- Required: Ability to work in mechanical and tight spaces, climb ladders, and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Required: Experience in using calibration software such as Infor 10 EAM is preferred but not required.
- Preferred: Experience with Infor 10 EAM calibration software.
- Preferred: Strong troubleshooting skills for complex equipment and instrumentation issues.
